Welcome!
I am delighted to write to you as the Acting Director of
The Water Center, taking over from Anne Steinemann, who was the director from 2004 through September 2008.
The Center means a lot to our supporters. We have more than 3,000 constituents—representing agencies, industries, organizations, and the public. Our Annual Review of Research, featuring the latest UW science, regularly attracts more than 300 attendees. We receive financial support from more than 30 federal, state, and local agencies.
Our goal is to pursue research that will benefit society. We apply scientific studies to solve problems, educate students with practice-based research, and spark collaboration among academics, professionals, and the public.
The Center is fortunate to have many talented affiliates: faculty, students, advisory board members, and staff. You can meet them through the weblinks on the left.
I am commited to keeping the Water Center operating smoothly in this time of transition as we plan for the future.
